 Communication 










So, basically our 1st question is what is communication? 

Communication is not complex, but it is very simple, which transferring information from one person to other person, or even groups.

Mainly, communication have sender and receiver, where sender can transfer data or information to receiver.

Another Definition of Communication Skill is, 

                                        " Thinking about what to say, working out the best way of saying it, follow proper words of communicate, make sure the opposite person understands properly"

Mainly, Communication word comes from the Latin language, "Communication", which means "Common". People when try to communicate with others they establish "Commonness" with other people.

TYPES OF COMMUNICATION


Communication meaning is expressing your ideas and thoughts, so, it have various way to express it! By Speech, Writing, Signals or Behavior. People use various ways to communicate with each others and also sometimes the change the type of communication.

Basically, there are two(2) types of communication :-

                                     1. Verbal Communication
                                     2. Non-verbal Communication


1. Verbal Communication

                       In this Communication, message is transformed verbally, by mouth and writing. People can easily understand the communication, what we are trying to convey. In verbal people have to remember the communication "KEEP IT SHORT AND SIMPLE". 

                               In daily routine life, people talk with uncountable people on different topics. In some of them can understand the conversation, what people are saying. But, those people who have their own attitude, perception and emotions, they are not understand easily. So, at that time people have to mention their own examples, which are related to particular message. 


Verbal communication is divided in two various communicate :-

                                   1. Spoken(Oral) Communication
                                   2. Written Communication









1. Spoken(Oral) Communication


As per this communication type, people guess it that it must be include face-to-face conversation, speech, radio, voice, telephonic conversation. For Example, in Interviews, In webinars, In meetings not only this but it include conferences also.
In this kind of communication the speed of speech, clarity of speaking and volume is plays vital role.

Advantages

➽ Oral Communication is an essential for teamwork and group.
➽ This communication play vital role in massive conferences even, in private it also can be useful.
➽ It is time saving and also save money and efforts.

Disadvantages

➽ It is not easy to maintain and also unsteady.
➽ It is less authentic than written communication, because people have to organize first and after launch it.
➽ In any way people may be not understanding the entire conversation in oral way.


2. Written Communication


Written Communication may be hard to describe, because people have to written down all the conversation thing by symbolic or in signing way. Sometimes it may be printed or hand written and it can be transformed by letter, memo, descriptions, manuals and reports. This above mentioned ways are internal communications. While for external, people use internet web sites, mail, fax machines and contracts, advertisements. In most of business, businessmen use this communication to contact with others. 


Advantages

➽ In this communication, people find all the important informations, without finding any restrictions.
➽ Written communication is more precise and explicit.
➽ By this communication people can save for future records and use wisely.

Disadvantages

➽ Sometimes, people won't read whole letter, because of long and boring instruction and without animations it become difficult to read it.
➽ This communication takes time for completion.
➽ This also have more and more paper work and that's why sometimes, people can't find their proper papers.


Now, moving forward to Non-verbal Communications,...









2. Non-verbal Communications


                                     In Verbal communications, we saw that people express their meaning by spoken and written communications. But in this, Non-verbal Communication, we will see that how people can express their gestures and body movements.

➽ Non-verbal Communication, is barely about expressing gestures and facial expression.
➽ It is about talking without speaking any single word.
➽ " Action speak louder than words" - Non- verbal communication based on this!


          In Speech and written, which contain most of nonverbal elements mainly, In Speech - Voice Quality, rate, pitch, Speaking style, and flow... While              In Written- Handwriting style, use of words, layout and arrangement.
 
          Basically, Non-verbal communication happen on face-to-face interaction. Also it shows the body language of speaker. In this communication, physical characteristic plays vital role for maintaining.

In many situation, non-verbal communication describe more than in verbal communication.

FOR NON-VERBAL SPEAKER :-

➽ Important thing to bear in mind, while having conversation with people
      
     1. Surrounding area :- Decoration, Lighting, Room Environment, Management
     2. Speaker :- Clothing style, hairstyle, Dressing sense, Humor
     3. Body Language :- Gestures, Facial Expression, Way of communication, Greetings, Smooth talking, Eye Contact


⧭ Functions


➽ This below mentioned functions for non-verbal communication :-

   1. Self Presentation of Personality
   2. Express Attitudes (Interpersonal)
   3. Express Emotions
   4. Greetings and togetherness
   5. Bonding between speakers and listeners

➽ Non-verbal is far more better for understand situation than in verbal Communication.


⧭ Non-verbal also have advantages and disadvantages :-

Advantages

➽ People can understand this communication type, whether someone who can't hear.
➽ Even, in public places, where it's full of noisy environment, people can communicate this way.
➽ With the gestures, opposite person can easily understand, even he is far away.
➽ It makes the communication short and brief.

Disadvantages

➽ Some people find difficult to focus on this communication gestures.
➽ It is not useful in general public communication.
➽ Because of short and brief information, people can't even imagine the entire communication.
➽ It is only usable in rare situation, with proper information. So, people have less choice to do communicate with this kind.

1. Formal Communication


Formal Communication is the flows of different levels of organizational hierarchy and their various rules, policy, standards and regulations. It follows proper chain to communicate with people professionally. Formal Communication vary from various steps. 

➽  Below mentioned is type of in Formal Communication :-

     1. Downward
     2. Upward
     3. Horizontal ( Lateral )
     4. Diagonal ( Crosswise )


➽  Basically, this communication is use for meetings, Management, Organization and on International levels.
➽  Formal Communication is also called Official Communication.
➽  Formal Communication is time-consuming.
➽  It is usable in trending worldwide. 


2. Informal Communication


Informal Communication is entirely different from Formal Communication. It is casual and unofficial form of Communication. People exchange their information without any rules, regulation and privacy. This communication is based on the personal relations. Like, with Friends, Members, Colleague, Peers. 

  Below mentioned types of Informal Communication :-

     1. Single Strand Chain
     2. Probability Chain
     3. Gossip Chain
     4. Cluster Chain

  It plays vital role to improve friend circle. People can use it to make friends.
  This kind of Communication is can be very useful to create relationship between employees.
  Informal Communication is easy and quick to do instance action.
  It is not depend on any routines, people can use it for improvement.
